2025年前期、地域観光デザイン学科2年生のWEBライティング授業の一環として、学生同士によるインタビュー記事制作を行いました。この記事は、その授業内で実施された内容をまとめたもので、今回はガラさん（スリランカ出身）がイーコーコーさん（ミャンマー出身）に行ったインタビュー内容をご紹介します。

「阿蘇の自然の中で学ぶ」——ミャンマー出身・IICA地域観光デザイン学科の学生インタビュー

阿蘇の豊かな自然に囲まれながら、観光とビジネスについて学べるIICA（イデアITカレッジ阿蘇）。今回は、ミャンマー出身で地域観光デザイン学科に在籍している学生にお話を伺いました。今日のゲストはイーコーコーさんです。

― 自己紹介をお願いします。

ミャンマー出身で、現在IICAの地域観光デザイン学科で学んでいます。来年の3月に卒業予定です。

― なぜ地域観光デザイン学科を選んだのですか？

私は地域づくりやマーケティングに深い興味があり、将来は観光を通して地域に貢献したいという夢があります。そのため、地域観光デザイン学科がぴったりだと感じました。

― IICAを選んだ理由は何ですか？

都会よりも阿蘇のような自然の中で生活しながら学べる環境に魅力を感じました。自然の中で、実践的にビジネスを学べることがIICAの大きな特徴だと思います。生活もしやすく、学びやすい環境です。

― 学校の勉強と時間管理はどうされていますか？

私はアルバイトの時間を抑え、空いた時間をなるべく勉強にあてています。学校の課題や授業を優先し、効率的に時間を使うことを意識しています。

― 一番好きな授業は何ですか？

マーケティング、Webライティング、ノーコード開発の授業が特に好きです。どれも実践的なスキルが学べるので、とても役立っています。

― 学校外ではどんな活動をしていますか？

昨年12月、「九州ビジネス観光コンテスト」に参加しました。「昼寝カフェ」というプロジェクトを企画・発表し、とても良い経験になりました。実際のビジネスを考える貴重な機会でした。

― 一番難しかった授業は？

簿記の授業が一番難しかったです。日本語の専門用語や漢字が多く、理解するのに苦労しました。でも、頑張って乗り越えようとしています。

― 将来の目標を教えてください。

5年後には自分のビジネスを立ち上げたいと思っています。観光や地域づくりに関わる事業を通じて、地域に貢献できる存在になりたいです。

― IICAで成長を感じたことはありますか？

入学当初は、コミュニケーションやプレゼンテーションがとても苦手でした。でも、授業やイベントへの参加を通して、少しずつ自信がつきました。今では自分の意見をしっかり伝えられるようになりました。

― モチベーションの源は何ですか？

「楽しみながら学ぶこと」が私のモチベーションです。自分の好きなことに取り組んでいるからこそ、毎日頑張れます。

― ロールモデルはいますか？

はい、IICAの久保先生です。知識だけでなく、人との接し方や、仕事に対する姿勢を本当に尊敬しています。私も久保先生のような人になりたいと思っています。

As part of the Web Writing class for second-year students in the Tourism Design Department during the first semester of 2025, the students interviewed each other and wrote articles. This article is based on one of those interviews. Today, we are happy to share the interview conducted by Gala (from Sri Lanka) with Ee Ko Ko (from Myanmar).

“Learning in the Nature of Aso” — Interview with an IICA Tourism Design Student from Myanmar

At IICA (Idea IT College Aso), students can study tourism and business while being surrounded by the beautiful nature of Aso. Today, I interviewed a student from Myanmar who is studying in the Tourism Design Department. Our guest is Ms. Ee Ko Ko.

— Please introduce yourself.

I am from Myanmar, and I am currently studying in the Tourism Design Department at IICA. I am planning to graduate in March next year.

— Why did you choose this department?

I am very interested in community development and marketing. My dream is to contribute to local areas through tourism. That’s why I felt this department was the perfect choice for me.

— What made you choose IICA?

I was attracted to the chance to live and study in a natural environment like Aso, rather than in a big city. One of IICA’s greatest strengths is that we can learn practical business skills while surrounded by nature. It is a very comfortable place to live and an easy environment to study in.

— How do you manage your study time?

I try to limit my part-time job hours and use my free time to study as much as possible. I prioritize class assignments and lessons, and I always try to use my time efficiently.

— What is your favorite subject?

I especially enjoy Marketing, Web Writing, and No-Code Development. All of these subjects help us gain practical skills, and they are very useful.

— What activities have you done outside of class?

In December last year, we participated in the “Kyushu Business Tourism Contest.” We planned and presented a project called “Daytime Napping Café.” It was a great experience and a valuable opportunity to think about real business.

— What was the most difficult class?

The bookkeeping (accounting) class was the most difficult for me. There were many technical terms in Japanese, and a lot of kanji, so it was hard to understand. But I am working hard to overcome the challenge.

— What is your future goal?

I want to start my own business within the next five years. Through tourism and regional development, I hope to become someone who can contribute to local communities.

— Have you felt any personal growth at IICA?

When I first entered IICA, I was not good at communication or presentations. However, by participating in classes and events, I gradually gained confidence. Now, I can clearly express my own opinions.

— What keeps you motivated?

“Learning while having fun” is my motivation. Because I am studying what I like, I can do my best every day.

— Do you have a role model?

Yes, it is Mr. Kubo, a teacher at IICA. I admire not only his knowledge but also how he treats people and his attitude toward work. I hope to become a person like him in the future.
